Whether they have short, long, curly, or straight hair, guinea pigs spend a lot of time looking after their lovely locks. And most of the time, they do a fantastic job at keeping their coats clean and shiny. But on those rare occasions when their fur gets soiled, piggy parents can help their floof with a quick bum wash using a safe guinea pig shampoo. This doesn’t just preserve their luscious fur, it also helps make sure that no nastiness can impact their health and lead to diseases. Hence why it’s actually recommended to give your piggies a bath 3 to 4 times a year - more often if your furry friends are sick or old.
That’s where the Love You Soak Much Bathing Set comes in, providing a gentle shampoo, fast-drying towel, and a box that can be repurposed as a foraging hidey.
Our furry friends are sensitive creatures, so only the gentlest shampoo for guinea pigs should come near their skin. Our team of small animal experts hand-picked completely natural ingredients that return your piggies’ coats to their former glory while soothing their sensitive skin.
This pH-balanced shampoo for small pets is so gentle that even rabbits can use it (but make sure you are only bathing your rabbit if your vet recommends it). Plus, the anti-septic qualities of this pet shampoo even help with the healing of minor ailments!
Once your fluffy friends are done with their soak, use the towel included in the set to gently dry them. Show your floofers that you love them soak much with this Bathing Set!

HOW TO USE
Not sure how to bathe your guinea pig? Find our step-by-step guidance on our blog, and remember that:
-
Piggies usually only need a bath 3 to 4 times a year - that’s once every 3 to 4 months
-
Bunnies should only be bathed if a vet advises it
-
Shallow water is all that’s needed for the bath, an inch or two tops
-
A non-slip base, like a towel, should be at the bottom of your sink or basin
-
You only need to wash their bum and underside - and steer clear of the face
Now, let’s start bathing your guinea pig with these simple steps:
1. Prepare the bath
Get all your ducks (and piggies!) in a row with the right tools: a sink or basin with a non-slip base, your guinea pig shampoo, the microfibre towel, a bath thermometer (optional), and plenty of tasty treats for your trooper
2. Place your piggy in shallow water
Add your pig to the mix, and make sure the water is shallow and at a comfortable temperature, ideally between 32°C and 35°C (90°F and 95°F).
Once your pig has settled, you can wet their bottom area. There’s no need to wet their whole body, just the underside of the piggy. And always stay away from their ears, eyes, and face!
3. Apply shampoo to their lower body
Now, add a small amount of shampoo onto your hand and gently massage it into the piggy’s fur, following the line you’ve created by wetting their bottom.
4. Massage gently for rich lather
Help your furry friends relax by moving in small circles and giving your floof a massage.
If you want to wash their belly, you can place their front paws on one hand and lift it slightly, making sure the back legs stay firmly on the ground.
5. Rinse off with clean water
This is the part where you need some piggy parent expertise. To rinse off the shampoo, you need clean water. And to swap out the water, you need to remove your piggy for a short moment, place them on a towel in a carrier or somewhere else that’s secure, and empty out your basin or sink. Getting a second pair of hands to help makes this step so much easier.
Once you’ve refilled the basin or sink with shallow water, you can add your piggy back in and gently rinse off the shampooed areas.
6. Dry thoroughly with towel
It’s important that your guinea pig is fully dry after their bath. That means a gentle towel-dry, and some snuggle sessions with you until they’re completely dried off.
7. Treat Time
And now to the most important part, at least in your pig’s opinion: treat time! Reward them with a healthy snack to help them view bath time as a positive experience.
